Ceiba is a graduate of Oregon State University holding a B.S. in Forestry with a focus in fire and restoration. She has recently joined the Shasta Valley RCD forestry team with a combination of experience in forest management, wildfire suppression, and GIS. At OSU Ceiba was engaged in remote sensing research conducting high density LiDAR point cloud analysis and imagery interpretation for forest classification and inventory purposes. Ceiba also spent four seasons as a firefighter on a type I hand crew based out of Siskiyou County, where she found inspiration to pursue a forestry career. She is excited to combine her interests and knowledge of forest management, ecology, and wildfire through SVRCD to better serve and support her community. In her free time Ceiba enjoys planning her next adventure or thru-hike, spending time outdoors, and quality time with her family.
