SVRCD is partnering with California Association of Resource Conservation Districts who was awarded funds through US Forest Service to restore private lands that burned in various fires from 2021-2022. This project will restore  forest lands to reduce  fuels and the planting of trees. Fire restoration areas include the Antelope Fire, Mountain Fire, McKinney Fire, Mill Fire and Slater Fire.

SVRCD is partnering with the Klamath National Forest and CalFire to manage Craggy Good Neighbor Authority Project. The project will thin forests on the Klamath National Forest west of Yreka to restore historic forest conditions. This is the first Good Neighbor Authority project in the State of California to commericially harvest timber.

This project is located in the Upper Sacramento Watershed west of Interstate-5 in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) west of the City of Mount Shasta to the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. It consists of vegetation treatments that will reduce wildfire risks to both the community and forest lands, increase forest resiliency, and enhance wildlife habitat. 

This project will restore 222 acres of Karuk Tribal lands that burned in the Slater Fire. The project will remove hazardous snags, reduce dead fuels, restore to forested conditions and create a fire adapted  ecosystem.
